I am having a problem with grid snapping in block diagrams

When a new block is added to the drawing, I can connect to the connectors via a cable or dogleg with no problems, however, it seems that these connectors are just slightly off grid.  What can I do about this?  It causes drawings to look a little funny when the attachment point is almost on the grid, but not quite.

Thank you for your help in resolving this quickly.

I am currently using English Units of measurement for the grid spacing.

Well, both of these components were placed with snap to grid on.  Just to be sure, I deleted them, made sure snap to grid was on, placed the components and redrew the cables.  Same problem.

Hi Lance,

As posted earlier in the thread, you need to ensure the following:

Check that the Grid and Nudge values in your document are 2.5mm:

  1. Select Options | Preferences | Millimeters
  2. Check that Options | Preferences | Precision is set at 1 decimal place or more
  3. Display the Document Properties sheet (doubleclick anywhere on the document, or rightclick and select Document) and check the Nudge value in the Dimensions tab and the Grid Spacing values in the Grid tab

If the values are not 2.5mm you should check/edit the template which can be found under the Stardraw installation folder at \Templates\Block Schematic.S01

Kind regards,
