New to Stardraw - getting the 'lay of the land'. I have tried to use an exisiting Title Block and make modifications to it - Have done that - and then tried to insert the company logo - this works - but then two things happen after I move the logo to the front so that it is visible. 1) I get a message saying 'not enough storage to complete the operation' when I try to resize the logo (which is 200Kb in size), and 2) The rest of the title block disappears when I try to zoom in or out. I do have the skeleton Title Block saved in the Library List - just can't get past this point. What am I missing? Thanks in advance!

Hi - what type of file is the logo (.JPG, .BMP etc)?  To insert an object like a bitmap, Stardraw calls on an OLE server application - this is the program used to open the filetype if, for example, you doubleclick on that file in Windows Explorer.  It is the OLE server app that is displaying the 'storage' message, so we can't be sure whether the message relates to memory, disk space, or something else.  Also, what operating system are you running?

It could be helpful if you email your title block and the logo file to techsupport@stardraw.com and we'll be happy to check it out.

Kind regards,

It's a jpeg. I am running Windows XP Home - have 1Gb Ram - Run a 2 Gb processor - have 50Gb space left on the disk. I will send the title block and logo on to tech support - thanks for the response.

Hi Charlie,

Thanks for emailing the files.  I'm pleased we were able to provide a solution.

I'm not familiar with the program you use to view JPGs, but I suspect it is a viewer rather than an editor.  You might find it beneficial to associate the filetype within another application, even if it's just MS Paint (this gives you the added functionality that if you doubleclick on the bitmap in Stardraw, it will fire up the image in Paint nd allow you to edit it).  You can use Windows Explorer to set up file associations: select Tools | Folder Options and go to the File Types tab.  Here you can set which application opens which file type.

Alternatively, in Windows Explorer you can rightclick on a file (e.g. a JPG) select Open With, choose the application you want from a list and check the box that reads "Always use this application to open this type of file".

I hope this is helpful, let me know how you get on with your other challenge

Kind regards,
