When I try to zoom in and out using my mouse wheel, at each zoom level the grid of blue dots refreshes from left to right. I cannot zoom to the next level until this refresh is complete and it is slowing the zoom feature to a crawl. I have a brand new computer with more speed and more memory than my last computer. What's going on here?

Thanks

Are you running Vista?

Do you have the Aero Scheme enabled?

I suspect that this is a graphics card/driver issue with Vista.

Yes, I am running Vista.

Should I have Aero enabled or not, and how do I adjust it?

What is the proper version of Vista to be running? SP1?

Thanks!

You should always be running with the latest updates from Microsoft. I believe Service Pack 2 is now available for Vista.

If your machine came with Vista, then the graphics card should support Aero and it should be enabled.

This can be set in the control panel personalize applet.

Do you know if you have Aero effects on?

We have had one other customer report a similar problem last year and after much investigation, it turned out that he had turned it off. When he turned it back on again, everything was fine.

It's in the dialog window before this one.

You should see a Color scheme of Windows Aero.
