Hi Jeff,

A stall at the 'Loading' message means that something is getting in between the download of program files and their extraction onto your system.  Nothing in the LiveUpdate process has changed, so something must have changed on your system.

Likely candidates are:

  1. Incorrectly manually configured proxy server settings.  Have you begun using a proxy server or changed your proxy server settings? Normally Internet Explorer is intelligent enough to work out proxy server settings so simply by disabling the manual settings you should be able to solve the problem.  Follow this procedure:
    a) Close all Internet Explorer windows
    b) Open Internet Explorer
    c) Select Tools | Internet Options...
    d) Go to the Connections tab
    e) Click on LAN Settings
    f) Uncheck "Use a proxy server...."
  2. Download accelerators.  Are you using something like Mozilla as a 'download accelerator'? If so, disable it for the LiveUpdate.
  3. Anti-virus software.  Are you using new or updated anti-virus software or settings?  Try disabling it for the LiveUpdate process.

I must stress that nothing has changed on the LiveUpdate side - the change must be local to your machine or network.

 I hope this is helpful

Kind regards,
Rob Robinson

Hi Jeff,

For the other viewers of the forum I just wanted to post that you have now been able to do a LiveUpdate (confirmed by you by email).  We still don't know why your machine was exhibiting this problem, but it seems to have gone away all by itself.

Kind regards,
Rob Robinson

Mine is hung at "Done".  I'm waiting to choose manufacturers.  Any ideas?

Hi Lloyd,

Is your subscription current?  You can check this at www.stardraw.com/readdongle.asp

You need a current subscription to be able to access the Synchronize Manufacturers service.

Kind regards,
