Hi,

I am creating some new products for a project, have created block  schematics (easy) and have created front and rear view of the product.
Have repeated this on another product (similar but not the same).

Suddenly, when either using the ppriduct in a rack schematics or if I try to edit symbol, everything is upside down.
I tried to delete all lines and symbols in the symbol editor and redo this, it's still upside down when I try to use it.

What have I done wrong?

A follow up question:
This product is a small box, 100x40 mm in front/rear view, so we mount them 4 side by side on a rack shelf.
I can insert 4 products side by side in front view and it will be ok in rear view, but You get a strange thing in side view.
Depending on the sideway position in front (or rear view), You get a different position in side view.

Is this a "feature" so all products on the same vertical level will be displayed in the side view, so You see that there is say 4 units, or is this something else ?
Normally we use the side view to show where the product in located in the rack, at the front side, the rear side.

With kind regards
Mats

Hi Mats,

Can I ask you to answer the following 4 questions:
  1. Is the symbol upside down in all views, or just the Rear View?
  2. How was the UDP symbol created? Did it, for example, include any objects imported from other applications via DWG or PDF?
  3. When creating the symbol, did you use Rotate or Mirror commands?
  4. Which of your UDPs is it, by Manufacturer and Model Number?
Regarding the Side View, yes, by default any products will have the same "depth" position in Side View.  This is because Stardraw Design 7.3 is a 2D application so it has X and Y axes but no Z axis.  Side View is actually a modified Front View, where some layers have been turned off, and some turned on.

It is possible to move the Side View outlines of products without moving the Front View position; you can use the Unlock Cursor to move the side view outlines independently.  Or you might find it better just to create a copy of the Side View and edit that as shown in the movie "Mixing Up Views", #13 on our Movies page.

Kind regards,

Hi Rob,

Symbol is upside down in front and rear view.
I did not use any rotate or mirror commands, I did do a copy (ctrl C) from another product rack view and pasted it into this product., no DWEG or PDF on this product
I tried to create a UDP from product and I edited the copy, still the same, in fact, I tried to delete all lines and symbols in the UDP and save back, when I dragged the UDP, still the original lines where there (upside down)...
I deleted the product and copy, did a new one (with the same name), now it works.
Something must have happened, but it seems to work ok now.

Best regards
Mats
