I am working on a project that I have to finalize and get printed today, June 11, 2009. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I need to export multiple drawings as DWG files to import into AutoCAD. When I "File/Save As" I select AutoCAD 2005 DWG from the drop down menu. When the "Define DWG/DXF Units" pop-up appears I select the box "Export Visible Layers Only." Unfortunately once I import the file into AutoCAD I still see the rear and side views stacked on top of the front view. How can I eliminate this problem without having to manually delete all of the information I do not want out of AutoCAD? I only need to see the front view, and without any extra labels or information.

Thanks for the help,

Brandon

Hi Brandon,

We have been unable to reproduce the issue you describe.  If Export Visible Layers Only is checked, the DWG file that is created contains only the visible layers.  Feel free zip up your drawing and post it to this forum - we can check it out.

However, I'm just trying to understand what you're trying to do. It doesn't sound like you actually want to work with the file in AutoCAD, so what is the problem you're trying to solve by going through DWG?

e.g. Do you want someone that does not have Stardraw to print the file?  If so, they could use the free viewer available at http://www.stardraw.com/products/OrderViewer.asp

If you can explain the problem you're trying to solve, rather than what you're trying to do, we should be able to suggest the best solution.

Kind regards,
Rob Robinson
