I wanted to add a Sky box to a project but noticed Sky was not a manufacturer that was listed to transfer to my library. I put in a request and Sky is now listed on the Stardraw manufacturers list on the website http://www1.stardraw.com/symbolsrequest/?applicationguid={0fba5872-5d42-4f34-8f28-7050f6678164} right between Sitronix and SLS Audio, but not when I try to add Sky to my own library. tools - personalisation - manufacturer libraries... Sky is not listed under available manufacturers.

Any ideas?

Hi Ajay,

Thank you for your post.

As you may already be aware; the symbol request system is available for users of SD7 to request symbols for products that are not yet available in the symbol libraries. If a manufacturer is not available in the libraries then you may request that manufacturer and in turn request the products that you require symbols for from that manufacturer.

There have been no requests for products/symbols for the manufacturer Sky. Please use the Add A New Product Request for SKY link to request the products you require symbols for. When making requests we ask that an exact part number and product description is included as this will help up locate information about the actual products symbols are required for.

Once we receive your symbol requests we will contact the manufacturer and request specific information about their products. As soon as we receive this information new symbols will be created, published and available to use within SD7.

Since Sky's digiboxes have been produced by a variety of manufacturers such as Pace, Thompson, Sony, Panasonic and Grundig we have made available some Generic SKY satellite decoder symbols which you will find in the Generic Video libraries details of which can be found here. Once downloaded in SD7 these symbols can be found in the library list under Generic Video\Satellite Decoders.

I hope this is helpful.

Kind regards.

Thanks for your reply Kevin. I seem to have a new issue now which is preventing me from adding the generic sat box to my project. I go to Tools, personalisation, manufacturer libraries to add Generic Video and found that it was already added to my library. Yet when I go to my library within teh project Generic Video does not show up. I have tried removing it and re-adding it but it still does not appear in my library.

Any ideas?

Hi Ajay,

Please restart SD7 and allow synchronization to complete (having made sure Generic Video is one of your selected manufacturers). You will see the word 'Ready' in the bottom left hand corner of SD7 when synchronization has completed.

Note also that the Generic Video Sky symbols are available for the Block and Pictorial Schematic drawing modules only, these symbols are not available in the Panel or Rack module libraries.

Please reply to this thread if you still cannot access the Generic Video symbols.

Kind regards.

Still no luck with this Kevin. I've tried adding from the Block Schematic tab and the Dashboard Products. Generic Video just seems to have disappeared.

Please follow this procedure and be sure to wait until each step is completed. Note that synchronization can take several minutes, even for a single library, and attempting to use the library before it is fully synchronized will lead to the effect you have described.

  1. Close and then start Stardraw Design 7

  2. In Tools |Personalization | Manufacturer Libraries deselect Generic Video, click on OK and allow synchronization to complete. Wait until you see Synchronization Complete and then Ready in the StatusBar.

  3. In Tools |Personalization | Manufacturer Libraries re-select Generic Video, click on OK and allow synchronization to complete. Wait until you see Synchronization Complete and then Ready in the Status Bar.

  4. Start a new project, create a Block Schematic drawing and check that the chosen manufacturer is available in the Product Browser.

Kind regards,

Thanks Rob, that sorted it. I had tried that but perhaps I hadn't waited for the sync to complete.
