I recently posted about multiple drawings and the UI and I am currently at issue with the save and exit procedure for the symbol editing window. There is no save button that you would correlate with the edited symbol itself, so one just picks the Windows save button and then "must" exit with the X in the window’s upper right corner. If one mistakenly clicks exit in the "file"drop down menu and one has other drawings that have been tentatively edited but one has not yet decided to save or discard the changes, the UI adverts one of this fact and offers to save: "Yes", "No" or "Cancel", but upon selecting "Cancel" as to null and avoid any further action, SD7 abruptly closes all the open windows and shuts down completely, causing the lost of whatever was edited and not saved till this point. Is this the correct and intended response? If so, please advise on work around.

Thank you

Hi Rolando,

Yes, to close Symbol Editing mode you click on the X in the editing window (in the Menubar).

As is standard with every Windows application, File | Exit is an application level command which closes the application.

Yes, but even if "File | Exit" is a "Windows" application level command, should not the "Cancel" null or revert the this action, instead of shutting down abruptly? Is this an issue to take up with Microsoft or is it something that can be corrected in SD7, or is it normal behavior and once "Exit" is selected it becomes a "point of no return" from which one can not opt out.

Thank you.

Hi Rolando,

Yes, it looks like 'Cancel' is not behaving as it should. This will be fixed in an upcoming update.

Kind regards,
