When using the scroll wheel on my mouse to zoom in or out on a drawing, the symbols disapear, leaving just the grid. If I click the zoom to drawing button, the symbols reappear. I have to use the zoom buttons, or zoom window to perform any zoom functions. Any ideas?

Hi Trey,

Can you email the drawing that is exhibiting this behaviour to techsupport@stardraw.com, or attach it to a post to this thread?  If we can reproduce the problem we will be able to look into a solution.

Thanks.

Kind regards,

Here is a file that exibits the problem. It is a problem with any file i use on this machine however. It seems to be machine specific, but I can't put my finger on what would cause it.

Thanks

Upon more usage and exploration, I have found that what is actually happening, is that when I zoom with the scroll wheel the document is jumping to a far corner of the page, well beyond the document boundry window. I have to scroll for quite a while to bring the drawing back into view. Hope this helps figure it out.

Hi Trey,

We have been unable to reproduce the problem and, as you have found it to be machine specific, the likely candidate is the mouse driver. If you have installed a fancy application or utility to control or add functionality to the mouse, even if it comes from the manfacturer, try disabling or uninstalling it (you can always re-install later if this has no effect).  Windows should be able to handle the mouse without third party software.

A contributing factor may be that the symbol is a long way outside the Document Boundary (you can see where the boundary is by typing VB or selecting View | Boundary).  In the attached the symbol is central to the document boundary.  Does the problem persist?

Kind regards,

Found another piece to the puzzle. The problem only exists when using the dynamic zoom while stardraw is on my secondary monitor. The problem is that this is my primary drawing monitor due to its size. I need help figuring out how to keep this from happening. If I drag the Stardraw window back to my primary monitor, which happens to be my laptop screen, it works fine. It goes so far as I can place the Stardraw window half on each monitor and zoom on the primary monitor half of the drawing properly, but as soon as I zoom on the portion of the document on the secondary monitor the document jumps down to some remote corner of the grid, and I have to eithr scroll for a while to find my drawing again, or click on zoom to document and start over with the zoom process. Hope this helps.

We've investigated the problem and it is because your secondary monitor is positioned to the left of your primary monitor in you Display Settings in Control Panel. If you position it to the right, then the zoom should work.

We have developed a fix to allow you to place your secondary monitor to the left of your primary monitor and this will be published in the next few days, together with some other pending updates.

So, for now, re-position your monitors in Control Panel and everything should be fine.

Changing the monitor location in control panel did in fact fix my problem. I will be looking forward to the update. Thank you so much for your help. It is nice to work with a company who cares.
