Hi guys,

Afew months back I emailed Stardraw requesting to get some items added to the Library.

-One such item being the the Tandberg C40.

Since that time, I have heard no more on the matter and after updating my libraries have found nothing to have been added.

Is this something that they will do?

Luke,

I can't see your request in our database. Your email may have been filtered out by a spam filter.

To request symbols to be authored, you should enter the information on our website - this will automatically add your request to our database and can then be tracked by you online.

Go to http://www.stardraw.com and click on the Stardraw application you with to request symbols for, then click on Request Symbols, choose the Manufacturer you want. You will then see the list of products that have already been requested and you can either add your request too or create a new request.

How long does it usually take for items to get added the library?

Hi Joey,

It's a simple question, but there's no simple answer.  It depends on:

  1. How responsive the manufacturer is to a request for data.
  2. Whether the manufacturer is able (and willing) to supply data and, if both, how long it takes them.
  3. Whether appropriate, good quality data is already available.
  4. How complex the symbols are.
  5. How many symbol requests are in the queue at the time.

Some manufacturers are very responsive and can supply data very quickly and in these cases symbol turnaround can be measured in just a few days.  Some are not so responsive and here you can help: you are their customer and can leverage the request through the supply channel.

Where manufacturers simply refuse to play ball we may be unable ever to add their symbols.  Although we will do whatever we can in these cases, priority will go to those manufacturers who can supply data in response to customer requests.

Kind regards,
Rob Robinson

Hi Rob,

This isn't really all that important but I was wondering if there were plans to edit the Tandberg items (e.g. The Codecs)

to Cisco?

Hi Luke,

Thank you for your post.   We’ve not been advised of any rebranding of any of the Tandberg products we currently have available in the libraries.   We will contact Tandberg/Cisco and ask for more information on this.

In the meantime, please let us know if there are any Tandberg products you are aware of that have been re-branded or have changed significantly?  You can contact us by email and send any supporting information such as a link to the product page on the internet or a product PDF datasheet to: symbols @ Stardraw .com.

If there are any products you require symbols for by either Tandberg or Cisco that are not yet included in the libraries, please request them using the symbols request system on the Stardraw website.

Kind regards

Kevin Harrison
