Opening .DWG files

Group: Forum Members Posts: 124, Visits: 273	I use StrawDraw AV a lot to open .dwg drawings from architects and then draw in speakers and other components where we need them on the print. Lately, it seems that I can not get some .dwg files to open properly unless I request the architect to save them in an older version of autocad. Is there an autocad version we should be requesting of the architects? Or can StrawDraw AV be updated to accept the latest releases? I am running the current up-to-date StarDraw AV software.
