Hi everybody,

I use the latest version of stardraw. now I open a file, make "save as" and rename it. after that I work in this file and make some save activities to prevent the possibility to lose my work. now it may happen that the program crashes, if I want to save the file. if I reopen it, the whole work is gone, the file is in the version like i made the first step, the "save as".

what happens here?

Hi Fabian,

This sounds very strange - Stardraw should not 'crash' at all.  When this crash occurs do you get an option to send an Error Report?  If so, have you sent the Error Report.

Please post the drawing that is exhibiting the problem to this forum as a Zip file, or email it to techsupport@stardraw.com and include detailed instructions on how to reproduce the problem.  If we can reproduce the problem we will be able to fix it.  Thanks.

Kind regards,
Rob Robinson

Hi rob,

thx for fast reply.

I sent the error report in most cases, the last I sent about 45min ago.

I can send you drawings, but the problem is not with one specific drawing. sometimes my workflow is like this:

i have a new prjoect which is almost similar to a earlier project. so I open the earlier one and make "save as..." an save it like this in another directory with another name (on a server volume).

thx

Hi Fab,

It would be useful to see an example of one of the 'earlier' files - we'd like to check to see if there are any unusual elements in the drawing. Thanks

Kind regards,

Hi Fab,

We have taken a look at the file you emailed - thank you - and there are no obvious problems. Do you get the same 'crash' problem when you Save As to a local folder on your current machine, or is it only when you save to a network drive?

Kind regards,

to this question i have no answer at this point, because i never work local. but i'll observe the things in the next time, i'll work on the local drive for the next time.

the problem is also, that this mistake isn't constantly if i do this "save as..." action. i can send you the "save as... " file after the crash, mean the same file as the earlier, but with the new name. may that be helpful?

ok, now i have the answer. the same problem occurs on the local machine. i "save as..." the file from the network volume to the local drive and stardraw crashes. i'll send you the crash report immediately...
