Hi,

I usually name the start label of cables by a prefix followed by a continuous numbering. eg A0001 for audio cables, U0001 for UTP cables, ...

But when I have to dive back in a project with hundreds of cables, I don't remember what was the last value for each cable prefix and I didn't find a simple way to retrieve the last used value in SD7.
So my workaround is: In each project I insert a 'cable management' drawing in which I place, using the Text tool, the last used value for each prefix.
This is working... if I don't forget to maintain it.

Does someone have another idea or a better practice for cable numbering ?

Thank You

Hi Hughes,

You could just export a Cable Schedule and sort by cable number, in Excel.

We have big plans for a cable management interface, but this is for a future major version release.

Kind regards,
