Is there a way to edit a manufacturer's name without going editing every single UDP?
It's not uncommon for manufacturers to get

• bought out/subsumed into another company
• rebrand themselves
• ...a misspelling not to be caught out until way too many UDPs are created!

Currently, no, it's not possible to apply a global change to all, or a subset of, UDP symbols. UDPs and their symbols are self-contained objects and to have the ability to effect a global change would require ground-up re-architecture of the data structure.
