Hi Alan,

You can edit (i.e. change or delete things) in any symbol using the Unlock Cursor.  The Title Block is, architecturally, a symbol so this approach can be used to change things it contains, but note that you cannot Add objects to a symbol hierarchy.

I think the best approach to legends etc is to create a custom symbol that can be inserted into the drawing after you've added the title block, and you can then edit this custom symbol, if needed, using the Unlock Cursor.

You might find it useful to view the movie #23 Customizing the Symbol Browser on our Movies page

Ah Yes this makes sense, Cheers

That sorted that - thanks Rob.

Further Query....With regard editing a title block, We can create unique instances with the predefined fields for updates which is great.

However, once within the drawing I notice there is no method to edit the title block further, explode it etc. Therefore adding notes for revisions or general comments cannot be added directly to the block. Is their any options to change this? Or is this a fixed item and perhaps it is more suitable to create a Symbol block that houses this information and fits within the confines of my title block to allow me some 'free editing' on each instance that does not require me to create a new title block template for each note or addition to a title block?

How would you manage this type of change?

Cheers

Alan

Hi Alan,

2 points to be aware of:

1) The Title Block templates file needs to be saved somewhere other than the Stardraw Design 7.3 installation folder;  you should save it to a folder such as My Documents.

2) In the Insert Title Block dialog ensure that the File: editbox is pointing to your edited template file in My Documents (or wherever you choose to save it). Click on the ellipsis (...) button to navigate to the correct file.

I hope this is helpful - please do let us know if you continue to experience any problems.

Hello,

I have created a title block with numerous client, designer etc logos. it saves and opens with all these logos present.

However when i select the title block to insert into my drawing, all the images are the same image - my default company logo.

Am I doing something wrong with the creation of the title block?

Thanks

Alan
