Disclaimer: please forgive my ignorance if these exist already and I've missed a trick.

1. AutoCAD-esque Blocks. High Priority Request

A lot of the products in the shared library have been labelled manually. Few use the [Manufacturer] [Model Number] attributes which, when creating new products from the same product, is invaluable for saving time! Is there a quick way for Stardraw to just highlight and convert these text fields to those attributes? 

4. Symbol wizard

When Creating a new product from existing product, can we have wizards to edit rack depth/height, and amend input/outputs?

5. AutoCAD-esque Unlock Selection

Shift + Click is helpful for selecting multiple objects. However, could we get Shift + Draw Box Selection Around Objects to easily select groups? Especially when there's a lot of symbol detail involved!
Another level would obviously be AutoCAD's way, which Click + "Draw Box to the left" selects entire objects wherever you touch them, and Click + "Draw Box to the right" only selects objects you completely surround .

Hi Haz,

Thanks for your post and apologies for the very long delay in responding; there have been some issues with notification from the forum which we're taking up with the service provider.

Regarding your requests;
1) This would require a fundamental re-working of architecture to support Block Referencing a la AutoCAD and this in all honesty is not going to get very high on the priority list.  If the problem you're trying to solve is the correction of an error in the library, then it's far better to fix the symbol(s) at source; please report any problems you find in the Products Library to symbols@stardraw.com.  While Block Referencing may not be on the cards, we are exploring Product Substitution which will probably provide a similar resolution without the need to fundamentally rework the software's architecture.
2) Default measurement units revert to a 'sensible' setting for drawings based on the standard templates, e.g. in a Rack Layout drawing, since rackmount products use an imperial framework (19" across, and 1U is 1 3/4"), then inches make good sense, but you can save a drawing with metric units as a User Template (File | Save as Template) and this will persist whatever settings you have saved to the User Template in all drawings based on that template.
3) We will investigate.
4) Unfortunately this is not possible if the base product has 'custom' symbols; the Symbol Wizard can create new drawing objects programmatically but cannot edit/adjust existing drawing objects in symbols.
5) Noted - this is already in our wishlist.
