Can we please request that Stardaw accept the .EPS or some other similar vector based image file format so we can properly scale logos and pictures without pixelation that occurs with the current image file formats?

Hi John,

Thanks for your post.  I'd like to understand better what the exact problem is that you're trying to solve.  Perhaps you can email a project file that demonstrates the issue to techsupport@stardraw.com, along with the original source file of the graphic(s) you want to use.

Stardraw Design 7.3 already supports vector formats such as DWG, DXF and PDF (assuming the PDF contains vector objects).

Perhaps you have mis-spoken when referring to a "vector based image file format"; by definition an image is a bitmap, or 'raster' object and cannot be vector.  I think I understand what you mean, though; a format such as EPS can contain a mix of vector and raster objects that represent non-line art graphics e.g. graphics with fills, shading etc, which cannot easily be represented by line-art vector objects.

With regard to pixelation of images, this should not be an issue if the source bitmap is of appropriate resolution to support the require output scaling.  For example, if you're putting a logo into a Title Block, and if you know the logo will be output at a given size e.g. 2" wide in print, then the source file for the logo should be around 600px wide which would mean an output resolution of 300dpi which is acceptable for medium to high quality print.

But, as I say, we'd like to fully understand the specific problem you're trying to solve so if you could email use some representative files we will be happy to investigate further.

Kind regards,
Rob Robinson
