I can print to the PDF writer but it put the entire drawing in the PDF page and is so small the detail cannot be seen.

I‌s there a way to export or print to the PDF writer a selected portion of a drawing?

I‌ did select the portion and then printed to the PDFWriter but the entire page was saved not just my selection.

H‌elp is appreciated.

Hi Larry,

T‌hanks for your post.  To do what you want use the Print Area function found in the File menu.

C‌hoose File | Print Area | Set and then drag‌‌ to mark the chosen area - you'll see a red rectangle while you're dragging, although this is hidden once it's been Set.  Now when you choose to Print that drawing it will only print the contents of the Print Area so you can just Print to PDF in the normal way to generate a PDF of that section of the drawing..

Y‌ou remove the Print Area by choosing File | Print Area | Clear.‌

I‌ hope this is helpful.‌

Kind regards,

Yes that did the trick.
I‌ was trying to set the Print Area before I clicked the Print Area function.
I‌ did search the Help and could not find anything about how to do this.
I‌ would request that be added to Help.‌
Thx

The functionality is now described in Help - see the Index; Print Area.  Thanks for alerting us to the omission.

Kind regards,
