Stardraw Design 7.2 is now live.  It is a separate download/installation and can run side-by-side with SD7.1 until the older application is uninstalled.

Stardraw Design 7.2 is a free upgrade for all users with a current subscription.  New features and fixes are as follows:

New Features

• Import PDF: create a new project by importing a PDF file. The project will contain a drawing tab for each page in the PDF and, where the PDF contains vector objects, the drawings will be editable within SD7.2. Learn More...
• J-STD-710 Symbols: a new library of Plan View symbols conforming to the InfoComm/CEDIA/CTA standard "Audio, Video and Control Architectural Drawing Symbols" (J-STD-710). Learn more...
• Plan View Symbols: a suite of functionality supporting Plan View symbols representing Products and linking to ProductInstances, meaning that over 10,000 Stardraw library products now have Plan View symbols and you can create Plan View symbols for your UDPs either in the Symbol Editor or via the UDP Wizard.
• Plan View drawing interface: now includes the Product Browser and Available Symbols palette to support new Plan View symbol capabilities.
• Symbol Attributes: graphical elements inserted via the Symbol Browser now support Attribute values in a way that is similar to symbols representing Products. Text in symbols, where formatted as [attributeName], can display Atttribute values in the drawing, dynamically.
• User Templates: create drawing templates with your own default settings. Learn more...
• Polyline: a new drawing tool is available in all drawing types allowing you to create Polylines and Polygons. Learn more...
• Component Symbols: a new library in the Symbol Browser with the component elements used in Stardraw Library Symbols, like IO stubs, connectors, controls etc, available for use in your own UDP symbols. Learn more...
• Synch UDPs on Demand: the new command Tools | Sync User Defined Products allows User Defined Products to be synchronized, if they have been created or edited on another machine, without restarting SD7.2.
• Cloud-Based Licensing: USB dongles have been replaced with a hardware-free, Cloud-based licensing system making it easier for users with multiple computers or in different geographical locations to share a license.

Enhancements

• Project Cable Schedule: the command File | Export | Cable Schedule now creates a project-wide schedule using Cable data from all Block Schematic drawings in your project.
• Mirror: Mirror Copy has been replaced by a simpler Mirror command.
• Improved Synchronization: the Manufacturer Library synchronization process has greatly improved performance and is now around 8 times faster than previously.
• User-Level Application Databases: instead of single, application-level database for the Product Libraries, each user now has a unique database file for their selected manufacturer libraries. This means that it is no longer necessary to complete a full Synchronization - which might take many minutes - whenever logging in as a different user.
• UDP file format: UDPs are now stored as a special version of the .S07 format, meaning that all characteristics of UDP symbols, like image transparency, dashed lines and all objects supported in .S07 are now honored in UDP symbols.
• Cable tools: the Cable Label and Cable Arc tools are now available in Pictorial Schematic drawings.
• Reverse Cable: a new context (rightclick) command is now available making it easy to reverse (switch ends) of Cables that have been drawn the wrong way around. Learn more...
• Improved Export interface: the new File | Export sub-menu and dialogs make it easier to generate external file formats like Cable Schedules and Equipment Lists in Excel, or DWG files.
• Scaling: maximum scaling percentage increased to 1,000,000.
• Improved About dialog: the new Help | About Stardraw Design 7.2 dialog makes it easier to see current license and subscription status and perform appropriate actions, like purchase, take and release your license and renew your subscription.
• Export formats: export to Visio and SVG formats is deprecated; users should employ Windows Enhanced Metafile (*.emf) for these purposes.

Bug Fixes

• Cable Schedule column displacement: where a Cable was not connected at both ends, Attribute values might appear in the wrong column.
• Products View exception: clicking on the first (blank) heading box in Products View would cause a non-fatal exception.
• UDP Synch: on very, very fast machines the UDP Synchronization process might encounter a race condition.
• Large Image Handling: where available system resources are insufficient to display large images at full resolution, instead of displaying an "Out of Memory" exception, iterative resampling now reduces image display resolution, without changing that asset's native resolution, until the image can be displayed.
• Exception - TargetInvocation: user edit sequences on Cable objects that might include use of the Unlock cursor and Undo/Redo could cause a Target Invocation exception e.g. 'EndpointSizing'.
• Character Support in UDP Wizard: prevents crash in UDP Wizard when entering special characters e.g. apostrophe (').
