A feature for Auto Numbering or series numbering for other items like feather IDs would be helpful. 

Thanks for your post.  While true "Auto Numbering" may be problematic, especially for Feathers which are created asynchronously but must be IDed in pairs, we are looking into new ways of setting Attribute values, including sequential values, for a future version.
