No, only UDPs actually used in the project will take up memory, although if the same UDP is used many times that will increase the memory used.
High memory usage is likely due to large images in the UDPs - it might be possible to use lower-resolution images to avoid this in future.
Also if you are working on a large project it would be worth saving more regularly than usual, and also restarting the application from time to time.

This worked, the file name was exactly same.
Afterwards Stardraw crashed, not right afterwards, but after some work. My laptop has 8 GB RAM. Are UDP libraries using RAM if they aren't accessed within the drawing that is open?

Hi Linda,

We're continuing to investigate the problem.

In the meantime a workaround would be to manually copy the file that contains your UDP library. Assuming a Windows 7 machine you will find the file in:

C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Roaming\Stardraw.com Ltd\Stardraw Design 7\1.0.0.0

It has a .SDF extension and a long filename, similar to:

556c62ed-1579-4721-a769-7a203dea4287.sdf

Close SD7, copy the file from the desktop machine to the laptop, start SD7 and all should be well.

Kind regards,
Rob Robinson

I installed SD7 on my laptop around the same time I installed it on my office machine, about 6 months ago.

Hi Linda,

Synchronization occurs automatically on application startup and whenever a change is made to your selected manufacturers.

Kind regards,

is Synchronize an action that I need to take, or is it something that automatically transfers upon opening, like drop box?

We are investigating this problem at the moment. We can confirm that your UDP symbols (776 of them) are safely stored in the cloud, the problem is with the synchronize.
Was this a new install on your laptop, or perhaps there were not many UDP symbols in the library on the laptop before the synchronize? We are looking into the possibility that the synchronize timed out because of the number of symbols being downloaded.

Regards

Dave Strawbridge.

I need to synchronize my laptop with my office machine. The SD site says "Congratulations! The Synchronize UDP Service is Active!" from both machines, same dongle, same account.
And yet I do not see my elaborate UDP library on my laptop, just a partial library.

What could be the issue?
