Hi Rob,

If I convert Block Schematic to Pictorial Schematic, the interconnection would disappear. Can you please suggest a solution for this?

Thanks and Regards

Rani

Hi Rani,

This is normal behaviour - Stardraw cannot recreate the connections from one environment in another.  This is because:

  • Symbols or the same product will be different sizes and shapes in different environments: Blocks are 'stylised' while Pictorials are representative of the product's real-world dimensions
  • Blocks and Pictorials show different levels of connection: the Block is designed to show engineering detail (i.e. all connections) while the Pictorial is designed to show engineering 'intent' (i.e. a high level overview of connections)
  • The overall layout of the Block is going to be very different from the Pictorial because one is an engineering document while the other is a sales presentation with aesthetic impact.  Computers are not very good at creating original 'art'!

So, just as converting a Block to a Rack gives you a stack of symbols that you can arrange into a rack however you want, so converting a Block to a Pictorial gives you a stack of symbols that you can arrange any way that is appropriate, and then you simply add single line connections to show design intent.

I hope this is helpful.

Kind regards,
Rob Robinson
