Hi
Does Stardraw allow you to use the plan view drawing with an imported CAD floor plan populated with AV symbols from the Stardraw library, then export a wiring schedule showing cables between rooms?

An example might be: CAT6 Cable from DATA point in Sitting room runs back to the AV Hub in the basement, plus a further notes i.e. 1m tail left at termination.

This would primarily be for an on-site electrician to follow and run the cables.

Thanks.

In Stardraw Design 7.4 the best way to achieve what you want is to document the point-to-point connections in a Block Schematic drawing, with relevant data stored as Attributes in Products. This way each Product will know what Room, Floor, Ref. etc applies to it, and each Cable knows about itself and what Ports on which Products it’s connected from and to.

The Cable Schedule – which you would design as a custom template in the Report Designer – will automatically generate the data you need based on the Block Schematic drawing, and Product and Cable Attributes.

The Plan View not required for the purposes of building a Cable Schedule, but can be used to show the location of Products in the context of a Floor Plan or Reflected Ceiling Plan.

I hope this is helpful.
