For example, can you dock the layers panel as a tab in the left margin like the symbol browser?

I would like to move around in the document or while editing a symbol and affect layer visibility. Currently I don't see a way to work in the document while the layers panel is open.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for your post.  Currently, no: the Layers dialog is Modal which means that it has to be closed before doing anything else in the workspace.

We are looking into whether the dialog could be implemented as Modeless, which means that it could be floated/docked while working on other things, but this would be something for a future version.

As a tip, the 2 shortcuts to display the layers dialog are 1) to click on the "Current Layer:..." link at the bottom of the drawing window and 2) Ctrl+L.  Hopefully these shortcuts will help improve your workflow.

Kind regards,
Rob Robinson
