Are the Substitution fields for products (for use in block schematics and rack layouts) referenced by the equipment list headers?

Can substitutions be made for custom product attribute categories?

I found the help article on Project and Document substitutions, but didn't see any info on Product substitutions.

Hi Richard,

Yes, the Substitution field can relate to any Product Attribute, even custom ones so if, for example, you were to create a custom Product Attribute called "IP Address" you would use the Substitution text [IP Address].

Note also that if your UDP symbol contains text of the format [xxxx] and no existing Product Attribute of the name "xxxx" exists, then a new Attribute called "xxxx" will be created for that ProductInstance, with an empty value.
