It is possible to determine the size of symbol text print in print, more specifically and for example the IO label text on Block Schematic symbols, it's just not particularly easy.

In essence you would need to a factor in the printed page size and the desired text size, then set up a constraining boundary (equivalent to the Title Block Drawing Area size) into which your drawing would fit.

As I say, not impossible, just not something that is done in the exact same way as AutoCAD, as many things in Stardraw Design 7.1 are not the same as AutoCAD.

Thank you for the feedback - we're pleased you appreciate the free demo.

Kind regards,

Well I'm glad you had a free trial at least. Try sending an architect who has specified font size for the drawing set, and all pages has a random font size? I would think this would be a required feature for any schematic program? Maybe in the future you can look into being able to set the font size on symbols and locking the scale instead of automatically scaling to fit titleblock. This would be very useful.

Viewport Scaling, in the way that AutoCAD does it, is not a feature of Stardraw Design 7.1: the abstracted concepts of 'Model' and 'Paper' spaces do not apply.

In Stardraw Design 7.1 the title block is scaled to fit the drawing, and the print output is then scaled to fit the page size.  It's a difference in approach which means there's no easy way to determine the absolute size of, for example, the text in symbols when sending to print output.

How do I make sure that every symbol gets printed with the same font size? As it is now I am using an Arch C titleblock, which is fine. Titleblock stays the same. In the drawing however, the symbols change size depending on how many symbols I have in the drawing to fit within the titleblock. I would like for the symbols to stay the same so that the text size stays consistent through all my drawings. This is easily done in AutoCAD by setting viewport scale.. How do I do that in stardraw?
