I wanted to try out the title block features but nothing happened after clicking "Ok" in the Title Block dialog. While trying to find out where that title block had gone, I found the following crash:

- Start StarDraw, create new project, create Block Schematic, go to that drawings tab
- "Ctrl + T" -> Title Block dialog opens
- Choose any title block, hit "OK"
- "Ctrl + A" -> StarDraw closes immediatly

Any idea why no title block appears when I try to add one? (It's the same for ANSI and Metric templates and the template files themselves look fine...)

Cheers
Phil

Hi Phil,
When a title block is inserted into a drawing it scales itself to fit the objects in the drawing.
If there are no objects in the drawing, the title block cannot scale itself, so it doesn't insert.
A title block should be inserted into a drawing only when that drawing is complete (or near-complete).
You may find the movies about title blocks useful; they can be viewed at http://www1.stardraw.com/products/stardrawdesign7/movies.asp
Thanks for identifying the bug when you select Ctrl+A after attempting to insert a title block into an empty drawing - we will resolve this in due course.

Kind regards,
Rob Robinson

Ok, that makes sense - thank you.

Is there a list of all the variables that can be used in title block templates (such as [Project\Client Name], [Document\Title]...)?

Hi Phil,
Yes, look in the Help file Index, or search for, Substitution Fields.

The list of fields can be viewed (outside of the Help wrapper) at http://blob.stardraw.com/www/products/stardrawdesign7/help/Substitution_Fields.htm

Kind regards,

Hello everyone,

thanks for the hint to this VERY useful Feature (you learn something new every day... ;-) ).
Would it be possible, to get [Project\Notes] into the list in some further update?

Best regards from Germany,
tom
