Dongle issue in Windows x64

Hi I have used Stardraw for a number of years now with very little issue, but now I have a big problem after migrating to Windows x64.

I have upgraded the dongle driver to the very latest from www.aladdin.com but Stardraw refuses to see it when I use www.stardraw.com/readdongle.asp.

As anyone got any ideas?

Probably because of this I find that my copy of Stardraw Audio will only run in DEMO MODE.

Live update will not install or do anything because it comes back with an error report > SETUPEX box with the message::REGISTER DIRECTORY: Unable to register directory with cryptkey license service. REASON:The service has not been started:

Other error message box> Stardraw Audio could not find file "c:\program files (x86)\stardraw.com\stardraw audio\stardraw.installer.installstate.

The same error messages occur when I try to download and install Lighting2d.

I have just renewed my subscription to both of these via Rob Robinson in the uk office. Surely I'm not the only person who has migrated across onto the Windows x64 format!

Anyone else having problems with Stardraw and the Windows x64 format?

Best regards,

fisher

Hi Joe,

Judging from the error message you have reported, a good first step would be to ensure that the CrypKey service is running.  Assuming the UI for X64 is the same as 32-bit XP, hit Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services then rightclick on CrypKey License and select Properties.  You should ensure that Startup Type is "Automatic" and that the Service Status is "Started".

Does this help?

Hi Rob, already tried that but it comes back and says  Could not start the Crypkey License service on Local Computer. Error 2: The system  cannot find specific file

Any help?

Best regards,

Managed to see the dongle but it states that the lighting2d is 226 days out of date!!!!

Still cannot download and install the demo to turn it into the full version.

Downloaded ok but will not install.

Copied the old one over from my other machine and it will only work in demo mode.

Running out of ideas and patience now.

Best regards,

Joe,

Have you visited www.stardraw.com/programdongle as mentioned in my email of the 10th?  What does the page report?
