Connector info in Reader

I just received a shipment of panels from a supplier with the wrong connector installed. I had used Stardraw to draw the panel. In pane view, when I click on the connector, I get a pop up that has the properties of the connector, in this case a 1/8" stereo mini jack.  My suppler who has Stardraw reader, does not get the pop up, so they looked at the connector and assumed it was a 1/4", as the two look virtually identical.

So, when I send a panel drawing to a manufacturer, does it sent the connector info? (I think I know the answer, and why, but I figured I'd ask anyway to see if I'm right!Wink)

If not, is there an easy way to attach the info to the drawing?

Hi Al,

The drawing includes all of the attribute information, e.g. mfr, model and description, but the free Viewer has not been designed to show attributes.

I think the best solution would be to generate a report from the drawing, e.g. Price Summary by Manufacturer, which enumerates quantity, manufacturer, model number and description and include it in your communication with the panel supplier.

Alternatively you could annotate the drawing itself:

  1. Select Tools | Add Product List to Clipboard
  2. Select the Text tool and create a line of text, e.g. "XXX"
  3. Doubleclick on the text object and select the text "XXX" in the text box
  4. Ctrl+V to paste from the clipboard

I hope this is helpful.
