I would like to change the colour of product outline when added to the block schematic. Currently the outline is a red rectangle for products. Can I change it to a black rectangle so the various cables colours stand out better Thanks Peter

Hi Peter,
You can use the Unlock Cursor to select elements in a symbol and edit their properties.
So, in this case, using the Unlock Cursor you would select the outline and change the Line Style | Color in the Properties Grid to be Black (0,0,0)

No, the default styling of Stardraw Library symbols is fixed but if, after you've changed the symbol to be the way you want it, you save it as a User Defined Product, then you can use the UDP symbol in the future without making further changes.
See the movie "Adding New Products" #09 at https://www.stardraw.com/sd7/movies which covers topics like how to create a UDP from a selection and how to use the Symbol Editor to make your symbols look any way you want them to look.
