Hi SD7 Team

When creating a drawing template,  such as a custom block schematic,  Can we add our nominated layers and shoose a defualt layer current layer then save the template and not have the system add the "Audio Circuit Paths " Layer and set it to the current defualt

Hi Toby,
This is something we are aware of, but you might be surprised to hear that it is 'by design' and not easily changed.
The behaviour actually occurs at time of saving; the drawing has to be returned to a known state on Save so that when it is next opened the user is not caught out by any strange effects, in particular View states. Imagine that you saved a drawing while in Rear View, or with critical Layers hidden; the next time you opened it and tried to add a symbol, that symbol might be mirrored (if the view state was in Rear View) or not visible at all if the layer(s) on which the symbol relies were set to hidden.
So, we have had to implement some default behaviours on Save, e.g. switch to Front View, show required layers and hide necessarily hidden layers, as well as switch the Current layer to a known layer, because problems would arise if the Current layer were hidden when the drawing is opened in its default View state (nothing you drew would be visible)
Sorry that we can't give you the answer you hoped for in this case, or make the required changes easily.
