Hi.

In the world of manufacturers in Stardraw Design 7 i have some issues finding the manufacturer for some connectors.
Is there a way to search the connector list? I need a double harting connector for 63A powering and CEE 63A 230V and 400V.
They are not in the generic hardware list.

Thanks for any replyes!

Hi Stefan,

Thank you for your post. You can view details of the symbol libraries by-manufacturer Here. If you can’t find what you’re looking for please use the Symbols Request Service to request the products you require symbols for. Please include an accurate part number and product description for each model as this will help us locate information about the actual products you require symbols for.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards

Hi Kevin.

Thanks for the reply.
It is not the issue that i cant find the manufacturer, I cant find the symbol because i don't know the manufacturer.
I know the connector and it does not matter what manufacturer who makes it. Generic is awesome! My purpose is to illustrate! Smile

In this case is there a option to search for connector/symbol type and not the manufacturer?

I would guess that the symbols are in the library, its just too big of a library to manually search it!

Hi Stefan,

You can use the Filter box in the Product Browser when you are working in a drawing e.g. Panel Layouts, to narrow down the items in the Product Browser. For example, type "Harting" into the Filter By box and the Product Browser tree will only show results that include the Filter By text.

If you still can't find a product, please do submit a symbol request. If the product exists in the library we will tell you where to find it, but there's always a chance that it does not exist and your symbol request will help us to add it.

Note that although the Filter By box has always been there, thanks to an update published today in response to your question, it now filters by Categories, which are the branches in the tree. This is good for helping to find products in the Generic libraries because they don't have Manufacturer and Model Number attributes.

Next time you run Stardraw Design 7, please Accept Updates to get this new feature.

Hi Rob,

thanks for the update and your good answer!
I have now requested several symbols. How long would it take for you to generate the symbols or contact me regarding questions about them?

Hi Stefan,

The time it takes for symbols requests to be published can vary greatly and can depend on a number of factors such as how many symbols you request at one time. Once we receive a symbols request - we then set about obtaining the relevant product information from the manufacturer’s to enable us to create the new symbols and publish them to the libraries. Unfortunately not all manufacturers are as quick to respond as we would like, we do have very good relationships with hundreds of manufacturers and some respond to our requests very quickly indeed - the turnaround time for a request can be as little as 24hours. If you carry any weight with any of the manufacturer’s you use, and can contact them yourself and perhaps apply some leverage, this often helps speed things along enormously.

If you need to find out the status of outstanding symbol requests or have any questions about symbols in general, please email us at symbols@stardraw.com .

Kind regards

Kevin Harrison
