Error when generating reports

Hi, we've created a 3-page pictorial project and every time we try to generate a report we get a Stardraw Design 7 Error. This is very frustrating because the reports is the main reason we got this software for. We deleted the bitmaps in the project and left just the symbols and some lines but error still occurs. Please help.

Please attach the project to a post, or email it to techsupport@stardraw.com, along with instructions to reproduce the issue and we will be happy to investigate.

Hi Pasquale,

Thanks for sending the project. The problem appears to be inconsistency in the names you have applied to Attributes. For example, in some products you have "Cost Price" (which is correct and used by the 'Cost ...' reports, but in others you have "Cost price".

The Attribute names passed to the Reporting interface need to be exact. Having said this, it should not throw an error and we will look into a fix for this.

However, if you export from the Products view (choose Products from the Dashboard and select File | Export) you will be able to generate a spreadsheet that contains all the attribute fields for all products - this may give you the 'report' data that you need, which you can then format in Excel, and it will also allow you to identify the products that contain the bad data.

I hope this is helpful.

Hi Rob,

We seem to have cleared up all the inconsistent symbols but we still keep getting errors; would you mind taking a look again at our project?

Thanks

Pasquale

Hi Pasquale,

We have published an update that resolves this issue - it was caused by duplicate attribute names with different cases, e.g. "Cost Price" and "cost price" and the update handles such cases in a more robust fashion.

When you next run SD7, please accept updates and all should be well.

Please let us know if you experience any further problems.

Works like a charm for now; thank you very much!
